Bethesda Ladies crowned champions!

Amlwch Town 1 Bethesda Athletic 3

All hail the 2018/19 North Wales Women’s League Division Two champions – Bethesda Athletic Ladies

Bethesda are the 2018/19 North Wales Women’s Football League Division Two champions at the first attempt!
Newly-formed this season, Pesda sealed the title by stretching their perfect record to nine straight wins with a 3-1 success at Amlwch.
Needing just two more points to clinch the crown, Athletic would have secured the championship regardless of the outcome at Lon Bach as the only team which could pass their points total, Wrexham, were beaten 2-0 at home by Corwen.
It was a good battle at Amlwch, a physical encounter played in strong winds.
Town had the conditions in their favour in the first half and led at the break courtesy of a long range cracker from Lexi Crawley.
After the interval Bethesda were on the attack instantly and Hannah McGoona soon equalised, latching onto a loose ball and finishing well.
It was not long before top-scorer and captain Katie Midwinter created some space and hit a typical 25-yard strike which found the net for her 21st goal of the season.
Ceri Lois clinched the points and the title when she latched onto a crossfield pass from Midwinter and finished in trademark style.
Pesda keeper Angharad Evans performed well for her side, while Ceri Pritchard in the opposite goal also produced some fine saves.
